Special and MANY THANKS to EVERYONE who helped this year we went INTERNATIONAL with our FORGET-ME-KNOTS
Remember Luis and Keep a Homeless Person Warm with a "Forget-Me-Knot" Blanket.
LUIS ENRIQUE JONES-POSADAS
January 20, 1999- January 4, 2006
In memory of Luis Jones-Posadas, age 6, who passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, January 4th, 2006 at Children's Hospital.
Everyone who ever met Luis Jones-Posadas could see that he was full of love. Luis had heart for poor and homeless, and that is why his family wants to pay tribute to his memory by helping those in need.
This is our second year and we hope this year will be as good as the last one we distributed hundreds of blankets across Ohio Last year and hope to get to our goal of 1000 Blankets this year.
We will be making and donating knot blankets to area homeless shelters and homeless individuals, in Honor of Luis.
You can help by: making a blanket, sending materials for making a blanket or making a financial donation. Each blanket costs around $15-$20 each to make.
NO DONATION IS TOO SMALL!
If you would like to help mail blankets and/or materials to
Forget-Me-Knot for Luis
PO BOX 248108
Columbus, Ohio 43224
REMEMBER LUIS WITH FORGET ME KNOTS FOR HOMELESS
We need FLEECE
( two, 2-yard pieces for adults', two 1.5 yard pieces for kids' blankets); white cotton or muslin for labels that will tell Luis's story:
raffia or fabric ribbon, new, small pillows: and fabric or tacky glue.
MAKING A BLANKET IS EASY!
Just lay the 2 pieces of fabric together, cut 6"x6" squares from each corner & discard. then cut 6" long fringes, 1"-2" wide, around each edge, and tie the front & back fringes together. Hint: thin fringes look "frilly" after washing; thick ones are more masculine. Pick any pattern combo you like and includes a personal message if you want. Be creative & have fun. You'll be warming someones's heart.
TIES THAT BIND: Call a few friends and make blankets together! Scout troops, book clubs, realtives, church groups- why knot?
On Behalf of the Jones and Posadas Family
Thank You SO SO VERY MUCH!!!!
